It's like reading about ME.

You Are An ESFP
The Performer

You are a natural performer and happiest when you're entertaining others.
A great friend, you are generous, fun-loving and optimistic.
You love to laugh - and you like almost all people equally.
You accept life as it is, and you do your best to make each day fantastic.

In love, you are a smooth talker and incorrigible flirt.
While you get into relationships easily, you don't tend to stick around when times get tough.

At work, you do well in groups. You keep everyone laughing through difficult tasks.
You would make a good actor, designer, or counselor.

How you see yourself: Capable, fair, and efficient

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Incompetent, stubborn, and silly

Lemons

I have had a love for lemons since I could remember. I don't know why, but I try and put it on EVERYTHING. If I find a lemon wedge somewhere I EAT IT. I put a bit of salt and chomp down. I don't need tequila. Just the lime or lemon. I love it on cucumbers, tomatoes, eggs, tuna, etc... the list goes on. Oh man my mouth is seriously SALIVATING.

(Image from google, I'm pretty sure it's Natalie D's work)

People watching at Bar Italia

The one in green I named peter pan. He was petit and nimble on the fence.

I have some more traveling left

Going back to Montreal for a Leadership Retreat/Conference. I missed out on last year, but I have my flight booked for this year. I can't wait.

Oh and some doodles.

I take my sketchbook everywhere I go- in hopes that I actually draw something.

Which sometimes happens.

National Youth Committee

Being the jobless hippie that I am right now, I've had the chance to really devote myself to the National Youth Committee. We had another get together in Montreal a few weeks ago and this one felt wayyyyyyyy more "together". Helene (our coordinator) is an amazing person. She has headed and vouched for our group since it started in 2006. Seeing the difference from our first meeting in february '06 to now is just incredible.

our first meeting in 2006

a good time was had.

Now in 2009

Feels good to be a part of something. And it feels really good to have friends like these people. They are so dear to me.

I've been getting into drawing patterns lately. It's a nice way to draw and zone out at the same time.

lovely rain

Labour day weekend doesn't feel very labour free for the unemployed :\ I'm off to Montreal again this weekend! This'll be trip #4? I'm pretty sure. I think there's room for sightseeing this time! I hope, I really love montreal and seeing everyone again. Gotta get my shit together. I was thinking of getting my hair cut, but my hair proved me otherwise today. I feels nice today. Alright Radish- let's get us a job.
(This was a signature from a graffiti artist by the name of Ernie Vales. According to a friend / coordinator of the show we attended the signature above the awesome "RADISH" tag is one of his old tags he used to go by. And he only did it in my book! I feel special.) This was the promo blurb on the invite I got for the show:

Graffiti Art Programming Inc. is proud to present its 11th Year Anniversary Exhibit:
“Hip Hop International: The Global Impact”,

Featuring art from two internationally renowned artists and graffiti legends, Cey Adams (www.ceyadams.com) and Erni Vales (www.ernidesigns.com).

The NYC legends are set to create and original concept mural in the Graffiti Gallery to celebrate it's 11th Year Anniversary!!

pretty cooooool.

Amy

I liked her as a blonde. Going out with my sister. Oh and don't see The Gamer. It started off as a good movie, buuuuut it kinda went downhill after the midpoint.

preview

This is in no way complete- it's more of a layout sketch for an idea I'm working on. The type hasn't been worked on at all, just sort of thrown there. I do that a lot...

old sketches -for now. New stuff soon.

Before I get to the newer stuff, I have a shit ton of old doodles to dump.

I am looking forward to fall this year. I've also come to realize that I have this infatuation with the late 50's and early 60's. Everything about it (visually) makes me happy. The architecture, the colours the make up, the SPY MOVIES. Oh dear god the movies. Which is why I am in LOVE with Kevin Dart's work Someday I will buy one or several of his prints.
Ugh, I've been looking for a job these past 3 months. It's driving me insane! I know for sure that I'll get one soon due to the kids going back to school but I also have this unreasonable standard that prevents me from working with food. (I am also a klutz sooooo yeahhh) I just hate not having my own money. My parents have offered all sorts of things for me, but it's a matter of pride. I also feel unprepared to find a job in the design world. I am however working on a friend's book cover (for experience). It's good for me and hopefully he'll like it :s Speaking of friends, I miss having them! Hahaha. I mean- I DO have friends, it's just taking me a while to realize how good they are to me! I've been reconnecting and actually connecting with people I didn't think would. This is where the growing up part came in (from the last entry). I have sadly lost some 'friends', but it all seemed very superficial and I didn't feel like I belonged in their world, which is fine. I've figured that out now. I've stopped changing myself for those types of people. I like being me.
Anyways, life is boring most days. I just feel like a house cat lounging anywhere. uuuuughhhhhh I have been sketching more and I scanned in a ton of old sketchbook pages.

Summer of 2009

Well hi! Sure has been a while no?
It's been an interesting summer this year. Maybe not quite the best, but good things have come out of it. I graduated with a degree, I turned 22 and I grew up a lot.
I've been a bit lost as to how to change from "school silvana" to "adult silvana". It's been bumpy, but I think I'm starting to get it. This whole summer has been creatively anemic! But it's starting to improve. I've started to draw again and it feels great. I haven't scanned anything in...yet...
BUT! Here is are a few doodles I've been playing with in photoshop:

(I've been trying to include textures in my doodles, just to give it more "oomph")

12welve

Just had my end of year thesis show. It was a blast! Lots of hard work and it was worth it.
